About Ksenia

I'm BANT Registered Nutritionist and Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, and I believe caring for your health should feel good. It should be enjoyable, sustainable, and fit naturally into your lifestyle.

At Ksenia Nova Nutrition, my goal is to help you thrive, guiding you through a health transformation that feels empowering, not overwhelming.

My background

I grew up in Lithuania, in a Russian family where food was always prepared from scratch using seasonal produce. My parents have always had a dacha, a small countryside garden, where they grew everything from tomatoes and courgettes to wild strawberries, plums and herbs. Every summer, our kitchen was filled with the scent of fresh fruit and vegetables, and we preserved what we couldn't eat for the winter months. That experience shaped my appreciation for real, simple, nourishing food and the joy of eating in tune with the seasons.

When I moved to the UK, I experienced a completely different food culture, takeaways, ready meals, convenience foods. I tried it all. But quickly, I found myself returning to what I knew: cooking at home, using seasonal ingredients, preparing food from scratch. It just made sense.

Motherhood and my journey

Becoming a mum to two young children really sharpened my focus on nutrition. I genuinely loved being pregnant and the postpartum period, and it deepened my passion for supporting women and couples through every stage of life, from fertility and pregnancy to thriving family health.

As a parent and someone with a full-time job, I understand the demands of everyday life and the importance of nourishing your family without adding stress or guilt. Watching my children grow and thrive has reinforced my belief that good nutrition shouldn't be complicated or restrictive, it should be practical, sustainable, and fit naturally into the rhythm of family life.

I've been living in Spain for the past 18 months with my family.

My approach

I believe caring for your health should feel good. It needs to be sustainable, enjoyable, and fit into your actual life, not some idealised and unrealistic version of it.

I don't believe in restrictive diets or one-size-fits-all approaches. Instead, I combine current nutritional science with an understanding of your individual circumstances, health history, and what's really going on for you day-to-day.

Rather than focusing narrowly on a single symptom, I look at you as a whole person. Your digestion, hormones, energy levels, sleep, stress, immune function, they're all interconnected. A symptom in one area often has roots in another. By understanding these connections, we can identify what's actually driving your health concerns and create a plan that addresses the underlying causes, not just the surface issues.

My approach is positive and non-restrictive because I know that lasting change doesn't come from deprivation or rigid rules. It comes from understanding your body and creating realistic strategies that work for your life.

My training

My interest in nutritional therapy had been brewing for some time. I completed a science foundation course in 2016 to refresh my knowledge of biology and chemistry, and then started my BSc (Hons) in Nutritional Therapy when my eldest was just two, a four-and-a-half-year commitment that I completed whilst working full-time, raising my family, and being pregnant with my second child. The nutritional principles I was learning and applying clearly worked, sustaining the energy and vitality I needed to manage it all!

My dissertation examined the safety and efficacy of 5-MTHF versus folic acid supplements in women with MTHFR variants experiencing recurrent pregnancy loss. The research process taught me how individual our nutritional needs truly are, and the importance of critically evaluating evidence without bias, looking beyond headlines to understand what the research actually shows and what it means in clinical practice.

As part of my professional registration with BANT, I'm required to complete a minimum of 30 hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) each year. This ensures I stay current with the latest nutritional research and clinical practices, allowing me to bring my clients the most up-to-date, evidence-based support available.

I recently completed a specialist six-month training programme, The Making Babies Naturally Mentorship with Sandra Greenbank, an advanced fertility and reproductive health course designed for practitioners who support individuals and couples on their conception journey.

I'm currently based in Spain and work with clients online.
